Reviews
If the Berg is too deep for forehands for you, or if you just want a Berg that's FASTER, then this is your winner. Or, if you hate the bead on a Devil Hawk, this is the winner.
The Warspear shares the same thumbtrack as the Devil Hawk, but it gets the beadless and angular Shaman bottom rather than the scalloped and beaded Chief OS bottom that the Devil Hawk gets. The Devil Hawk is a lot more stable, like a glideless Zone in a way. The Warspear is a bit blockier than a Berg, more square than round, but much shallower and still very comfortable forehand and backhand. Most Warspears end up with a slight puddle top or a flat top that yield good speed without excessive glide. Even Warspears that end up a touch domey still fly relatively the same, just a touch more glide and slightly less stability. It's a great balance between a brick and a midrange, somewhere right in between there. That allows it to excel under full power when you need a bit more distance for your approach or drive, but also maintain a predictable flight when you power down for shorter approaches. Under full power, it will hold any angle you put it on and give a very gentle fade. It holds anhyzer, hyzer, and straight lines all with ease. Powered down, it will give a little more fade but it stays pretty flat to minimize skips and rollaways. Don't expect this to replace your Zones, unless you're throwing Jawbreaker plastic. It's a lot straighter than what has become popular lately, but not to any sort of detriment. Straight approaches are crucial in tight fairways and give a lot more options than trying to flex something overstable.
If you're looking for the most versatile putt/approach disc on the market, this is for you. Flick forehands, touch backhands, anything in between. It excels. One thing to note is that it will act more overstable on a backhand than a forehand if you have a bit of wobble on your forehand release. For full power shots, backhand I'd give this 3/2/0/3 and forehand I'd give 3/3/0/1.75.
